Sarah Kimberly Becker is a theatre director, actor, educator, and playwright in the greater NYC area. A native of Austin, TX, her early theatrical career was launched at regional theatres such as Austin Playhouse, ZACH Theatre, and Street Corner Arts (all in Austin), and The Catastrophic Theatre (Houston). In 2015, Becker was a recipient of the inaugural directing fellowship at Street Corner where she then directed Lyle Kessler’s ORPHANS to great critical acclaim. Her acting career followed a similar trajectory and further range. Becker appeared as Anne Egerman in Austin Playhouse’s A Little Night Music and Emma Tate in Catastrophic’s Curse of the Starving Class. In 2019, Becker starred as Mina in an updated adaptation of Dracula by Steven Dietz and directed by the playwright at ZACH Theatre. The Austin Chronicle lauded her performance as one “with grace . . . one of the more nuanced protagonists . . .seen at ZACH.” And this resulted in her recognition as one of the “Top 10 On Stage Moments That Left Audiences Speechless.” Alongside her professional theatrical career, Becker served as the

Director of Theatre at Townview Magnet Center from 2021-2023, which includes such prestigious high schools as Talented and Gifted (Top 6 School in the Nation) and Science and Engineering (Top 23). She has also privately coached numerous students for college acceptances to the top acting programs in the nation. Becker is an MFA Candidate at Sarah Lawrence for Theatre and Performance in 2025.
